The thesis will be framed under the backdrop of the globalised neo-liberal economic scheme in Singapore, examining whether the neo-liberal economy inherently contradicts the ideology of social integration, and how far they can be mutually inclusive. The thesis will approach the issue through the lens of urban planning, based on the reciprocal effects between urban and social diversity, illustrating how the urban environment has contributed to the national agenda of economic development, and how the urban strategies have helped to mitigate the social divergence induced from the neo-liberal market.

Abstract
The thesis will be framed under the backdrop of the globalised neo-liberal economic scheme in Singapore, examining whether the neo-liberal economy inherently contradicts the ideology of social integration, and how far they can be mutually inclusive. The thesis will approach the issue through the lens of urban planning, based on the reciprocal effects between urban and social diversity, illustrating how the urban environment has contributed to the national agenda of economic development, and how the urban strategies have helped to mitigate the social divergence induced from the neo-liberal market.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
