Due to the rapid expansion of the city, some areas in the city sometimes lag behind in development. In China, this situation is very common, especially in areas with historical sites. In order to protect the historical sites, the surrounding areas rarely do commercial development. That's the Urban Village. Although the urban village is usually a symbol of backwardness, its preserved urban form is very interesting. In addition, as a carrier, urban village the few fragments that left by a city in the process of rapid development. The Beilin district in Xi'an is one of the few remaining urban villages in the city. As it is located near the Beilin Museum, the surrounding residential buildings are rarely used for commercial develop ment. It retains the traditional residence and courtyard culture of Xi'an. However, due to the lack of better infrastructure and quality public space, the residents decided to rent and sell these houses and move to more spacious houses in the suburbs. The phenomenon of "forced abandonment" of old residents to their former residences continues to unfold, and a coping strategy is urgently needed to retain the once vibrant living tradition here. Therefore, how to make the area and the people there improve the self identitiy themselves and increase the culture pride is desserved to do as new generation of Chinese designers.
A causa della rapida espansione della città, alcune aree della città a volte sono in ritardo di sviluppo.In Cina, questa situazione è molto comune, soprattutto in aree con siti storici.Per proteggere i siti storici, le zone circostanti raramente fanno sviluppo commerciale. Quello e'il Villaggio Urbano. Anche se il villaggio urbano è solitamente un simbolo di arretratezza, la sua form a urbana conservata è molto interessante.Inoltre, come portatore, villaggio urbano i pochi frammenti lasciati da una città nel processo di rapido sviluppo.
