In the last few years, urban regeneration is one of the issues which architects are most interested in. This work aims to understand how regeneration could create effects on places, looking at the case of the line. In the first part the argument is gradually developed by defining the main elements of the entire work. This argument starts from studying the meaning of the words to then arrive to choice the slow lines as possible tools and abandoned spaces as places where this reasoning could be experienced. The second part is focused on the situation of slow lines in the Italian context and analyzes their role in the existing policies. In particular, the Via Francigena and the Apulian Aqueduct Cycle path have been chosen to understand to explore their relationship between the territories. In the third part the lines are the starting point for a territorial regeneration which could join the different scales and small distant situation in a single vision.
