Pontevecchio hub. New facilities for slow tourism at Rivolta d'Adda

The thesis deals with the issues of sustainable and light mobility within a river area where nature reigns unspoilt and the recovery of historical artefacts with a strong indigenous character. The aim is to give new life to a place with great potential, which has historically represented a strong link between the river Adda and the community. The proposed project also aims to create a junction that could be a reference point for the entire area. The points of interest of the place are many and can be developed with a view to redevelopment but also respecting the environment. The thesis also proposes an unconventional survey method using photogrammetry and drones. The final proposal is to identify and locate a series of spaces dedicated to bicycle mobility also in terms of utilities and support services that allow sustainable tourism and also offer opportunities for new knowledge in the surrounding area. What is proposed and promoted is therefore an idea of slow tourism focused on the enhancement of little-known places outside the surrounding area, but equally rich in history, nature and biodiversity.

La tesi affronta i temi della mobilità sostenibile e leggera all’interno di un’area fluviale dove la natura regna incontaminata e del recupero di manufatti storici con un forte carattere autoctono. Si cerca quindi di dare nuova vita ad un luogo dalle grandi potenzialità, che storicamente ha rappresentato un forte legame tra il fiume Adda e la comunità. Il progetto affrontato e proposto si pone anche l’obbiettivo di poter creare un nodo che possa costituire un punto di riferimento per l’intera zona. I punti di interesse del luogo sono molteplici e possono essere sviluppati nell’ottica di riqualificazione ma anche nel rispetto dell’ambiente. All’interno della tesi viene anche proposto un metodo di rilievo non convenzionale attraverso l’utilizzo della fotogrammetria e dei droni. La proposta finale è quella di identificare e localizzare una serie di spazi dedicati alla mobilità ciclabile anche in termini di utilità e servizi di supporto che consentano un turismo sostenibile ed offrano anche opportunità di nuove conoscenze nel territorio circostante. Ciò che viene proposto e promosso è quindi un’idea di turismo lento che sia focalizzata alla valorizzazione dei luoghi poco noti al di fuori della zona circostante ma ugualmente ricchi di storia, natura e biodiversità.
