Villa Adriana. Allestimento tra architettura, acqua e paesaggio archeologico. Interferenze rinascimentali per scenografie d'acqua : il modello antico e Bramante

Nowadays our perception of Villa Adriana is of an archaeological site marked by time, not only because the Villa is in the state of ruins, stripped of all its marbles, decorations and statues, but also because the landscape has totally changed. Representations of the Villa over the centuries have been fundamental in imagining the dimension and variety of architecture that made up the Villa. The thesis is based on the combination of the valorisation of the existing heritage and research and innovation in the technical and scientific fields to create new sources of culture. In order to pursue the objective, a scenographic setting has been designed in a contemporary key, based on the study of Renaissance architecture and the architecture of Bramante. The project enhanced the insertion of new "objects" whose function is to increase the site's culture and attractiveness. Since architecture and archaeology have to coexist in the management of the artistic and cultural heritage, there is a need for collaboration between the two skills in order to have a complex vision, as correct as possible, focusing on the redevelopment and museumisation. The thesis is part of the campaign for the promotion and reopening of archaeological sites and museums promoted by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and supported by the director of the Villa.

Al giorno d’oggi la percezione che abbiamo di Villa Adriana è quella di un sito archeologico segnato dal tempo, non soltanto perché la Villa è allo stato di rudere, spogliata di tutti i marmi, dalle decorazioni e dalle statue, ma anche perché il paesaggio è totalmente cambiato. Le rappresentazioni della Villa nel corso dei secoli sono state fondamentali per immaginare l’estensione e la varietà di architetture che componevano la Villa. La tesi si basa sul binomio tra la valorizzazione del patrimonio esistente e la ricerca e innovazione in campo tecnico e scientifico per la realizzazione di nuove fonti di cultura. Per perseguire l’obbiettivo è stato progettato un allestimento scenografico in chiave contemporanea, che si basa sullo studio delle architetture rinascimentali e delle architetture del Bramante. Il progetto prevede l’inserimento di “oggetti” nuovi che hanno come funzione quello di apportare un incremento di cultura e attrattività al sito. Dovendo quindi coesistere, architettura e archeologi¬a, nella gestione del patrimonio artistico e culturale, si vede il bisogno di una collaborazione tra le due competenze in modo da avere una visione complessi¬va, il più possibile corretta, in un’ottica di riqualifica¬zione e musealizzazione. La tesi fa parte della campagna di promozione e riapertura dei siti archeologici e museali promossa dal Ministero per i Beni e le attività culturali e sostenuta dal direttore della Villa Andrea Bruciati.
