The following project work investigates and discusses the main features related to the Industrial IoT paradigm from the viewpoint of a global leader in measurement instrumentation, services and solutions for industrial process engineering which, through the Industrial IoT-enabled platform of its property, aspires to strengthen its competitive position in the served markets, especially those majorly suffering from increasing cost-pressure. After a review of the Industrial IoT market’s prevailing trends, confirmed benefits and opportunities, and most important adoption challenges and barriers, the competitive advantage the company seeks was developed via the design of Industrial IoT use cases in specific target industries. The use cases were drawn from i) a previous analysis on the most sought-after use cases related to the Industrial IoT concept; ii) the use cases developed by traditional competitors and players driving the market; iii) from the study and analysis of processes of the target industries; and iv) from collaboration of different branches and functions of the company. The results of this process were bundled with the development of a prioritization framework and a roadmap for implementation of the use cases. Finally, feedback on the strategic orientation of the company were delivered in order to be more aligned to the Industrial IoT paradigm, mainly focusing on i) the strategic role of the sensor data and of the platform; ii) the integration of the new and former businesses; iii) the analysis of the customer profile; iv) the partnership network; v) the transformations in the business model; and vi) the operating model of the company.

Abstract
Finally, feedback on the strategic orientation of the company were delivered in order to be more aligned to the Industrial IoT paradigm, mainly focusing on i) the strategic role of the sensor data and of the platform; ii) the integration of the new and former businesses; iii) the analysis of the customer profile; iv) the partnership network; v) the transformations in the business model; and vi) the operating model of the company.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
