In this thesis clear equations have been obtained to predict the space and time harmonic content in rotating electrical machines. First, a mathematical notation was introduced capable of describing space and time waves through the Fourier series, also using their complex notation. Then, they were analysed the physical phenomena that are the source of such waves, and finally, for each of them, thanks to such notation, an equation was found that predicts the harmonic content of the magnetic field. Then the operation was repeated for each type of rotor (permanent magnets, salient poles, and distributed windings for the synchronous machine; cage rotor and distributed windings for the asynchronous machine), while the stator is assumed to be wound with the star of slots method (polyphase windings provided they have an odd number of phases, also with multiple layers topology). Finally, assuming magnetic linearity, it was done a superimposition of the effects among the various combinations between stator and rotor to obtain the harmonic content of the magnetic field in all working conditions of the rotating machines.

Abstract
Finally, assuming magnetic linearity, it was done a superimposition of the effects among the various combinations between stator and rotor to obtain the harmonic content of the magnetic field in all working conditions of the rotating machines.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
