Since the first decade of the 2000s, the term Design Thinking has gained relevance in the management world, first on practitioners, influenced by authors such as Tim Brown (2008) and Roger Martin (2009). A partire dalla prima decade degli anni 2000, il termine Design Thinking ha assunto rilevanza nel mondo manageriale, prima tra i professionisti, influenzati da autori come Tim Brown (2008) e Roger Martin (2009). Questi autori hanno suggerito che una metodologia di problem solving influenzata dai principi dei progettisti potrebbe offrire alle imprese una nuova strada per l’innovazione e lo sviluppo del prodotto. La borsa di studio ha studiato gli effetti dell’introduzione del Design Thinking nelle aziende e nelle iniziative pubbliche. Tuttavia, Academia ha trascurato lo studio di queste metodologie e dei loro effetti gestionali sulle Organizzazioni delle Industrie Creative. Organizzazioni che sono guidate dalla caratteristica umana della creatività. Questo lavoro di tesi esplora le specificità dell’uso del Design Thinking nelle Industrie Creative. Questo studio ha scoperto che queste organizzazioni affrontano sfide uniche e traggono vantaggio dalla pratica in modi diversi rispetto alle aziende e ai governi.
