The project starts by defining the perimeters of the area required to be redesigned, which is the area of 22 @ innovation district in Barcelona, Spain. The location was industrial with low standard living spaces for the workers. Before redesigning the space, a climate analysis was performed by accessing the latest EPW file required to be used, multiple softwares were used in order to generate the required visuals to be analysed, such as Microsoft Excel, Climate Consultant, and the tools available on Grasshopper such as Ladybug. The dry bulb, dew point temperatures, relative humidities, psychrometrics, sun and wind diagrams were studied. Following this process, a site analysis was performed with the help of multiple softwares such as Google Earth, Rhino, and Autocad. Public transportation routes and stops were mapped, along with determining all the different typologies of the buildings located on site and their respective height and number of floors. The buildings also were determined if they were occupied or abandoned since a lot of buildings found on site are very old and partially demolished. Furthermore, all the green spaces found on site were also mapped, and their current state condition was analysed. The site analysis was not limited to the site but to the surrounding as well, everything within a radius that complies with the 15-minute city. After that, the site was redesigned and a minimal number of buildings was demolished, and some were added. A building was selected and defined as a modular building which is composed of prefabricated panels. The cooling and heating loads were determined for multiple trials, each time changing a certain parameter such as insulation or window types, and all the data obtained through IES VE was analysed as post processed to enhance communication and understanding, along with performing visual comfort analysis using Velux and Grasshopper as well. An optimized case is set after and worked upon.
