“We need to get a touch of it, we need to feel it to be able to believe it, to come in close contact and meet the people who live there. Behind the nasty looks of youngsters who are responsible for acts of vandalism and minor crimes, there are real-life stories which one should always try to listen to and comprehend. Behind the degradation of urban spaces, there are neighbourhoods which have been labelled by the media as dangerous places, but innocent and normal people still live there, and these ghettos echo the cries for help on behalf of the younger citizens who feel trapped in their less fortunate fate, finding it difficult to find a fair way out. Moreover, ensuring safety measures and supervision will definitely entail a renewed spirit of social integration among the community members. The attitude of “hanging around” public spaces without anything to do has often been annoying to other citizens. Offering different perspectives could be the key to fighting junior delinquency in towns as well as helping restore personal relationships among the community members. This is exactly what architects have been expected to create, or at least the few who still feel the need to convey an educational dimension inside the urban architectural context they thrive to create. This is what Architecture is all about creating the context for cultural and social happenings, framing life and painting a picture of society boasting the unison of architectural and educational aspects.

Abstract
“We need to get a touch of it, we need to feel it to be able to believe it, to come in close contact and meet the people who live there. Nowadays it’s all about “touching” and so if you don’t or can’t touch it, what is then? Behind the nasty looks of youngsters who are responsible for acts of vandalism and minor crimes, there are real-life stories which one should always try to listen to and comprehend. A valid architectural project could be a positive solution to this problem in society although it is hardly ever available. It would indeed improve the situation and help meet the needs of all the local inhabitants in general. It is imperative to create public spaces keeping in mind that they could become a safe haven for youngsters and that they could also act as an incentive for families. A restored public area would attract inhabitants for its architectural beauty or renewed look, as well as serving as a cultural meeting point promoting social integration; creating places where people, will feel they have the right to belong to, is the educational purpose of architectural re-shaping.
