Agro-albergo diffuso at Castellazzo di Bollate

During my stay in Italy for my master’s degree I had the opportunity, despite the limitations and consequences of the global emergency of COVID 19, to travel and get to know several areas of the country that reflect the identity and culture rooted in each site in it. As a foreigner, every place I visited impressed me with its genuineness, and I really appreciated being able to be in places that made me feel and live that culture naturally. At the same time in this process I had the opportunity to share with actual Italians and travel with them and when confronting the opinion about their country and the places we visit, I found that almost all of them really appreciate their country and that are very few that are not aware of the beauty of the country in which they are living, something that I admire, becaise in many other countries the native people usually take for granted what they have and don’t really see the value of it. As a result of this, I feel my perception of spaces changed completely, and I learned to appreciate and look for opportunities in each space to empower and enjoy. When I visited for the first time the Villa Arconati last year, what really caught my attention were the buildings that were abandoned without any function in the surroundings but that really have the potential to achieve a space immersed in Italian culture that can be used by Italians but in the same way by visitors, who like me, seek to learn and live Italy through spaces in its most natural state but at the same time are potentialized leading them to modernity. For this reason, this thesis seeks, through an analysis of the context from the past to the present day , a response to the needs of the inhabitants of the place, with the aim of reactivating the area by taking advantage of the existing potential in the place. Always trying to maintain the identity of the area respecting its roots from the past, but at the same time introducing it in a modern context and looking for the design of a product with a specific service and its own system.

Durante il mio soggiorno in Italia per il master ho avuto l’opportunità, nonostante le limitazioni e le conseguenze dell’emergenza globale di COVID 19, di viaggiare e conoscere diverse aree del Paese che riflettono l’identità e la cultura radicata in ogni sito in esso. Come straniera, ogni luogo che ho visitato mi ha colpito con la sua genuinità, e ho davvero apprezzato il fatto di essere in luoghi che mi fa sentire e vivere quella cultura in modo naturale. Allo stesso tempo in questo processo ho avuto l’opportunità di condividere con gli italiani reali e viaggiare con loro e quando confrontando l’opinione sul loro paese e sui luoghi che visitiamo, Ho scoperto che quasi tutti apprezzano davvero il loro paese e che sono molto pochi quelli che non sono consapevoli della bellezza del paese in cui vivono, qualcosa che ammiro, Perché in molti altri paesi i nativi di solito danno per scontato quello che hanno e non vedono realmente il valore di esso. Come risultato di questo, sento la mia percezione degli spazi ha completamente cambiato, e ho imparato ad apprezzare e cercare opportunità in ogni spazio per potenziare e godere. Quando ho visitato per la prima volta la Villa Arconati l’anno scorso, ciò che ha davvero catturato la mia attenzione sono gli edifici che sono stati abbandonati senza alcuna funzione nei dintorni, ma che hanno davvero il potenziale per realizzare uno spazio immerso nella cultura italiana che può essere utilizzato dagli italiani ma allo stesso modo dai visitatori, che, come me, cercano di conoscere e vivere l’Italia attraverso gli spazi nel suo stato più naturale ma allo stesso tempo sono potenziati portandoli alla modernità. Per questo motivo, questa tesi cerca, attraverso un’analisi del contesto dal passato ai giorni nostri , una risposta alle esigenze degli abitanti del luogo, con l’obiettivo di riattivare l’area sfruttando le potenzialità esistenti nel luogo. Cercando sempre di mantenere l’identità del territorio rispettando le sue radici del passato, ma allo stesso tempo introducendolo in un contesto moderno e cercando la progettazione di un prodotto con un servizio specifico e un proprio sistema.
