The Northern Region has for many years recorded the lowest competitiveness among the regions in Montenegro. Insufficient investments have led to great underdevelopment and increasing migration of the population to the Central and Southern regions. To address this problem, strategic development plans emphasize the development of the Northern Region as a priority. In addition to all the potentials it has, the importance of air traffic is stated, ie the reactivation of the former airport ‘Dolac’, as a generator of development not only of the Berane municipality, but of the entire northern region, given that it is the only one among the regions that does not have an airport. In that context, a research was conducted in order to investigate the possibilities and justification of its reactivation. The goal is, through theoretical-analytical and practical research, to understand the importance of the former Berane airport and the changes that its reactivation would bring, as well as to create an efficient airport structure that will meet the needs of regions and passengers from around the world, but also follow all the guidelines of modern architecture, integrated with the surrounding mountain landscapes. Additionally, the visual aspects of the project itself must be in correspondence with the local surrounding architecture, which is why is forseen the use of modified local materials, in a more modern way. The new urban solution will folow the concept of the linear closing the edge of the city, while being in line with some of the benchmarks in close surrounding, and creating at the same time a new gathering place.

Abstract
The new urban solution will folow the concept of the linear closing the edge of the city, while being in line with some of the benchmarks in close surrounding, and creating at the same time a new gathering place.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
