Abstract
The contemporay liquid era has introduced new forms of living the domestic space; the rigid partition of nineteenth-century dwelling doesn't suit anymore with the current human habits. Indeed, the breakdown of the family unit and the affirmation of equal relationships of couples have brought to a revolution in the behavioral model, reflecting this shift also in the environments which constitue the human living. Therefore, the disintegration of the concept of unity has pushed towards an increasing willingness of ever more evident affirmation of one's own individuality. The need of personal spaces and personal devices has arisen, highlithing the importance of designing tailor-made solutions able to respond not to the community, but to the single individual. Furthermore, together with the new declination of humanism, the loss of rigid structural and social barriers, the polychronic use of time have developed a more flexible attitude of conceiving spaces. The hybridization between the interior and exterior finds its expression in the concept of "home", conceived no more as family's shelter, losing its primary function and almost becoming a place of passage. In fact, the contemporary man plans his living in outer space, emphasizing his nomadic attitude and dynamic style of life. Hence, the project Sensitive Envelopes tries to respond to new human habits, generating a flexible and light system, easy to assemble. The furniture presents itself in its capacity for metamorphosis; in fact, by varying the position of some of its elements, different types of seats can be obtained; moreover, the system can be integrated with other accessories, becoming also an equipped wall. The result is a fluid abitacolo capable of changing skin, adapting to the needs of man and the different environments in which it is inserted; a personal device which follows the increasingly accelerated rhythms of modern man.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
