Zinc-based redox flow batteries (hybrid flow) are one of the most promising solutions for energy storage in the present time with their added advantages in terms of energy density, cell voltage, and cost. The main idea of this work is to focus on analyzing several electrode couples in terms of performance, energy density, cell voltage in addition to their drawbacks and how to improve them. The second part focuses on the additive materials to the electrolyte solution and how it improves the deposition of zinc in the aspects of morphology control and improved chemical performance of the zinc electrode. The results from the electrodeposition of the Zinc sulfamate solution showed good deposition morphology and homogeneity as the current density increased, reaching a maximum faradic efficiency of 94%. The solution was successfully integrated into a flux battery coupled with a Fe-based catholyte. The results obtained suggested that the zinc sulphamate solution is a possible candidate for RFB systems.

Abstract
The results obtained suggested that the zinc sulphamate solution is a possible candidate for RFB systems.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
