In this project a Handbike model, whose purpose is to improve the athlete's performance, will be developed through a modification of the commonly used structure and with additions of components that could encrease aerodynamics while maintaining a certain lightness. The final appearance of the frame and its interconnections will be the result of its structural optimization, that can be acived thanks to the support of finite element method tools (FEM), and the research for an aerodynamic shape inspired by the natural world and from the concept of bio-inspired design. The frame element will be the center of the project but will also be studied solutions for other elements such as crank arm and wheels in order to make the product even more performing.

Abstract
In this project a Handbike model, whose purpose is to improve the athlete's performance, will be developed through a modification of the commonly used structure and with additions of components that could encrease aerodynamics while maintaining a certain lightness. The final appearance of the frame and its interconnections will be the result of its structural optimization, that can be acived thanks to the support of finite element method tools (FEM), and the research for an aerodynamic shape inspired by the natural world and from the concept of bio-inspired design. The frame element will be the center of the project but will also be studied solutions for other elements such as crank arm and wheels in order to make the product even more performing.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
