This final thesis regards the period that I spent as an intern at Moncler, in the Retail Allocation department. Since the beginning of the internship, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the distribution system, the organization and structure of a luxury company in the fashion sector. My thesis is partitioned in five main chapters that sum up pretty much every part of the work completed during my time at Moncler, from the overall presentation of the company to the activities and analysis carried by me, as a Retail Allocation Intern for seasonal products. The first chapter gives an overview of the company history and outlines the brand DNA, vision and values, aspects that are very important in the luxury sector. In the second chapter, a general overview of the company structure, channels of sales and the evolution of its distribution system is presented. The third chapter summarizes the main activities of the Retail Allocation department, from the beginning of season until the final allocation of the products. The fourth chapter describes my role as an intern, the work performed by me, from the analysis of data, until the construction of reports that support the daily activities of Retail Allocation. Finally, in the last chapter I portray my final considerations and the importance of this internship to conclude the Master of Science in Management Engineering at the “Politecnico di Milano”.
