Walking is a fundamental activity in daily life, but it can be altered or limited by each individual’s physical conditions, which can be both physical impairments and the perception of a certain level of pain. Soles and shoes are now being studied with the goal of improving the gait and, in this work, we are considering the shoes produced by Podartis: the Activity DCS. This thesis has been suggested by Professor Cimolin Veronica and the measurements have been taken by the medical staff in Istituto Auxologico di Piancavallo. The selected patients have been asked to perform two kinds of tests: the 6 minutes walking test in the laboratory and an outdoor walk with a defined itinerary, both with the Activity DCS shoes and with the personal ones. The goal was to evaluate the effectiveness of the shoes produced by Podartis compared with the personal ones, taking into considerations different parameters, both related to the comfort experienced and to the gait analysis. Through an analysis of the data obtained during the performance of the two tasks, some promising theories can be made. However, it was not possible to confirm that the results had any statistical significance, since the statistical analysis did not allow to compare the results obtained by the two kinds of shoes for any parameter.
