In the past, several empirical and semi-empirical methods have been used to assess the performance of different types of compressors with the highest accuracy possible. For this thesis work, a semi-empirial non-dimensional modeling procedure for a roots blower compressor is proposed taking into account power and heat losses, as well as fluid leakages within the machine. The proposed model applies for roots blowers and roots compressors, the most common working fluid for roots applications is air, therefore, this fluid was selected for simulation. After the tuning and calibration of eleven parameters, the proposed model is able to compute the exit temperature, the shaft power of the machine as well as the mass flow rate among other parameters as compressor efficiencies and heat losses.
