Relitti e naufragi. Il palcoscenico delle rovine nella modernità

The research work aims to investigate the ruin from a philosophical, ethical and architectural point of view. In a journey that retraces a bit the different facets and involves different actors, such as time, pure and current, memory, oblivion, fragment and lack, the ruin becomes the protagonist of a play whose stage is populated by new and different actors. In particular, the protagonists become those ruins, more fragile and painful, witnesses of the present and the change of the contemporary urban fabric, produced by the modern age. These ruins, which could be defined as traumatic, trace a landscape with which we are indissolubly linked today. Placing the starting point from these ruins, we trace an itinerary that sees as protagonists the ruins of a specific architectural type: the architecture of the colonies. Tracing thus a panorama that tells the history of the colonies, how they have changed over time and in what conditions they are today, we try to give a provocative answer on how to stage today these ruins. An open epilogue that seeks to reflect on the values of an architectural movement, the Modern Movement, which has produced utopias and visions that live forever.

Il lavoro di ricerca ha l’obiettivo di indagare la rovina dal punto di vista filosofico, etico ed architettonico. In un viaggio che ne ripercorre un po le diverse sfaccettature e che coinvolge diversi attori, come il tempo, quello puro e quello attuale, la memoria, l’oblio, il frammento e la mancanza, la rovina diventa protagonista di un opera teatrale il cui palcoscenico si popola di nuovi e diversi attori. In particolare le protagoniste diventano quelle rovine, più fragili e dolorose, testimoni del presente e del mutamento del tessuto urbano contemporaneo, prodotte dall’età moderna. Queste rovine, che potrebbero essere definite traumatiche, tracciano un paesaggio con cui oggi siamo indissolubilmente legati. Ponendo il punto di partenza da queste rovine, si traccia un itinerario che vede protagoniste le rovine di un tipo architettonico specifico: l’architettura delle colonie. Tracciando così un panorama che racconta la storia delle colonie, come sono mutate nel tempo e in che condizioni vertono oggi, si prova a dare una risposta provocatoria su come inscenare oggi queste rovine. Un epilogo aperto che cerca di far riflette sui valori di un movimento architettonico, il Movimento Moderno, che ha prodotto utopie e visioni che vivono in eterno.
