Abstract
Milan is one of Italy's major cities, and it is rapidly rising and evolving into one of Europe's most competitive cities. In the past few decades, some of Milan's policies have been oriented to be more green, implementing more green infrastructures, and also for people, to have access to high-quality food. Achieving this long-term aim seeks to discuss its development strategies. At the same time, due to industrialization and urbanization, which has been occurred in the past decades in megacities, agricultural lands have been destroyed and replaced by built areas and factories. Quartiere Adriano has been developing since mid 20th century, and these days is struggling with several issues, including problems related to safety and social aggregation. Not only is proceeding difficulties with societal problems, but also with accessibilities, transportations, and food system. The project investigates transformational solutions that might protect and increase the values of the Adriano district through actions that reintroduce agriculture in urban life. The design extends over the strip of land in between the Lambro River and Marteasana Canal, building a conversation with the terrain while preserving it, while at the same time enriching Adriano with new characteristics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
