Workscape. Verso un nuovo paesaggio urbano nelle aree produttive del varesotto

Starting from the assumption that the workscape or urban landscape of work is today among the most neglected realities, if viewed from the perspective of “system of human and natural relationships that generate it”(CEP,2000) Is it possible to imagine this group of cities as an integrated part of it, in which the relations that exist are not dictated by the exclusive efforts of work, but by informal relationships typical of a compact community? The answer is affirmative, once traced a theory on the urban landscape, able to solve the spatial and perceptive problems related to these enclaves. These through the case study of Solbiate Arno, a small town in Varese, will emerge as the multiplicity of underused spaces and perceptively heterogeneous disorders, may be the opportunity, if reinterpreted correctly, to give life not only to the productive landscape itself and ensure an attraction to the entire landscape of a city. The interpretative reading will move in this case on two main strands of the landscape, one related to the perception of the observer fruente, one related to the abstraction of the spaces detected. In this case it will be important, in the first case to reproduce the observer’s gaze, enhancing the elements that qualify these landscapes, in the second place its abstraction in Unity of Landscape represented by the degrees of perception of the workscape and the relations between their spaces. Read in this perspective the space of the landscape emerges in its forms, which are well suited to be reinterpreted in a readable and clear system. Through this reading, the aim of the thesis is to propose attitudes useful to the perceptive reorganization, through the project of a case study, that by addressing the issues in situ knows how to generate useful actions to reorganize all those heterogeneous realities represented by the productive sectors.

Partendo dal presupposto che Il workscape o paesaggio urbano del lavoro è ad oggi tra le realtà più trascurate, se viste sotto il profilo di “sistema di relazioni umane e naturali che lo generano”(CEP,2000) , è possibile immaginare questa compagine di città come una parte ad essa integrata, in cui le relazioni che sussistono non sono dettate dalle esclusive fatiche del lavoro, ma da rapporti informali tipici di una comunità compatta? La risposta è affermativa, una volta tracciata una teoria sul paesaggio urbano, capace di risolvere le problematiche spaziali e percettive legate a queste enclaves. Queste attraverso il caso studio di Solbiate Arno, piccolo comune nel varesotto, faranno emergere come la molteplicità di spazi sottoutilizzati e i disordini percettivamente eterogenei, possono essere l’opportunità, se reinterpretati correttamente, per ridare vita non solo al paesaggio produttivo in sé e garantire un’attrattività all’intero paesaggio di una città. La lettura interpretativa si muoverà in questo caso su due filoni principali del paesaggio, uno relativo alla percezione dell’osservatore fruente, uno relativo l’astrazione degli spazi rilevati. In questo caso importante sarà, nel primo caso riprodurre lo sguardo dell’osservatore, esaltando gli elementi che qualificano questi paesaggi, in secondo luogo la sua astrazione in Unità di Paesaggio rappresentati dai gradi di percezione del workscape e le relazioni che intercorrono tra i loro spazi. Letti in quest’ottica lo spazio del paesaggio emerge nelle sue forme, che ben si prestano ad essere reinterpretate in un sistema leggibile e chiaro. Attraverso questa lettura, l’obiettivo della tesi è quello di proporre atteggiamenti utili alla riorganizzazione percettiva, attraverso il progetto di un caso studio, che affrontando le tematiche in situ sappia generare delle azioni utili a riorganizzare tutte quelle realtà eterogenee rappresentate dai comparti produttivi.
