Milan is among the liveliest metropolises in Europe: fashion and design are the sectors that make it the main business center in Italy. The identity of the city is legible by observing the skyline dominated by imposing skyscrapers: the Velasca tower, the Pirelli building and the Vertical garden are some of the architectures that embody the progressive attitude of the city. A vertical propensity that began in the 14th century with work on the Duomo, a recognized symbol in the world that boasts around 3,500 sculptures and a spire that exceeds 100 meters in height. The project’s main objective is attract new cultural thrusts by promoting training events for artists and designers. Urban workshops and teaching rooms will make up a complex for culture designed to be at the service of the local community. A place for interaction in one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the city. The research was conducted to arrive at the most suitable design solution. The aesthetic and architectural designs were supported with numerous analyses, concerning detailed structural verification, energy performance simulations that guarantee the optimal and more appropriate performance of the entire building. The design process and all supporting drawings are presented throughout the report, showing the evolution process of the project until reaching a more realistic and tangible solution.

Milano è tra le metropoli più vivaci d'Europa: moda e design sono i settori che la rendono il principale centro d'affari in Italia. L'identità della città è leggibile osservando lo skyline dominato da imponenti grattacieli: la torre Velasca, il palazzo Pirelli e il Giardino Verticale sono alcune delle architetture che incarnano l'atteggiamento progressista della città. Una propensione verticale iniziata nel XIV secolo con i lavori del Duomo, simbolo riconosciuto nel mondo che vanta circa 3.500 sculture e una guglia che supera i 100 metri di altezza. Obiettivo principale del progetto è attrarre nuove spinte culturali promuovendo eventi di formazione per artisti e designer. Laboratori urbani e aule didattiche costituiranno un complesso di cultura pensato per essere al servizio della comunità locale. Un luogo di interazione in uno dei quartieri più vivaci della città. La ricerca è stata condotta per arrivare alla soluzione progettuale più adatta. I progetti estetici e architettonici sono stati supportati da numerose analisi, riguardanti verifiche strutturali di dettaglio, simulazioni di prestazioni energetiche che garantiscono le prestazioni ottimali e più adeguate dell'intero edificio. Il processo di progettazione e tutti i disegni di supporto sono presentati in tutto il report, mostrando il processo di evoluzione del progetto fino al raggiungimento di una soluzione più realistica e tangibile.
