The redevelopment of Crystal Palace, from Innocenti to 15-minute city

This thesis deals with the abandoned industy building of Ex Innocenti factory in the periphery of Milan. It is one part of the redevelopment projects planned by Comune di Milano to recover the " lost land" and to reconnect different areas of the city. The project aims to strengthen the urban axis near Lambrate Milano with the redevelopment of the "Crystal Place" and its surrounding green spaces, hoping that in making the connection, great urban functions can be integrated in the periphery of Milan which can serve the city and the local residents. We consider bioclimatic strategies to be one of the most important considerations in designing the project which can reduce energy consumption and be environmental friendly.

Questa tesi si occupa dell'edificio industriale abbandonato della fabbrica Ex Innocenti nella periferia di Milano. Fa parte dei progetti di riqualificazione pianificati dal Comune di Milano per recuperare la "terra perduta" e ricollegare diverse aree della città. Il progetto mira a rafforzare l'asse urbano nei pressi di Lambrate Milano con la riqualificazione del "Crystal Place" e degli spazi verdi circostanti, auspicando che nel realizzare il collegamento si possano integrare nella periferia di Milano grandi funzioni urbane che possano servire la città e i residenti locali. Consideriamo le strategie bioclimatiche una delle considerazioni più importanti nella progettazione del progetto che può ridurre il consumo di energia ed essere rispettoso dell'ambiente.
