Analisi e confronto dei sistemi Nursing Home Compare USA e DoveSalute IT per la scelta di strutture sanitarie

The analysis compares two systems of research and selection of health facilities: one is based in the United States of America and the other one in Italy. Moreover, the purpose of the assessment is also related to verify the possibility of an effective application of some characteristics of the American platform in the Italian one. These two countries are characterized by different healthcare systems, outlined in the introductive chapter in order to provide a clear reading of the next paragraphs. The American website, Nursing Home Compare, has two decades of experience and was the subject of several studies which evaluated its reliability: this topic is further explained in detail in the second chapter. The Italian platform DoveSalute, instead, has a shorter experience, it presents a lack of specially designed studies, which has limited the possibility of managing a more in-depth work: an additional commentary can be found in the third chapter. The next chapters will focus on observations regarding DoveSalute, specifically, remarks about the interface between medical care consumers/providers and the aforementioned website, as well as its limitations and ongoing improvements which are required in order to keep the platform up-to-date, making it possible for information to be readily available. In conclusion, following the analysis and comparison between the two websites, some suggestions are made so that DoveSalute may adapts to the consumer’s needs and be more useful to the Italian healthcare system.

Il lavoro confronta due sistemi di ricerca e scelta delle strutture sanitarie: uno presente negli Stati Uniti e l’altro in Italia. Obbiettivo dell’analisi è anche verificare la possibilità di un utilizzo efficace di alcune caratteristiche del sistema americano nella sanità italiana. I due paesi sono caratterizzati da sistemi sanitari molto diversi tra loro, delineati nel capitolo introduttivo allo scopo di rendere più chiara la lettura dei paragrafi successivi. Nursing Home Compare, il sito-web statunitense, ha un’esperienza ventennale ed è stato oggetto di molti studi per verificarne l’attendibilità: viene descritto dettagliatamente nel secondo capitolo. Invece, il portale italiano, DoveSalute, ha un’esperienza molto più breve, manca di studi dedicati e ciò ha limitato la possibilità di condurre un lavoro più approfondito: se ne riporta la descrizione nel terzo capitolo. I capitoli successivi sono dedicati sia alle considerazioni relative all’interfaccia tra gli utenti/fornitori di servizi sanitari e il sito-web, sia alle rilevanti limitazioni e ai continui miglioramenti cui le piattaforme sono costrette per essere sempre aggiornate e far sì che l’informazione venga reperita facilmente. Infine, a seguito dell’analisi e del confronto fra i due portali, si propongono alcuni suggerimenti, per DoveSalute, in modo tale che, meglio si adatti alle esigenze dell’utenza e sia maggiormente utile al sistema sanitario italiano.
