Can Ricart foundation center for social justice

Can Ricart was one of the first mechanical printing factories for cotton fabrics in Catalonia, a leader in technical innovation and production volume. It is currently one of the few large industrial complexes from the 19th century that remain in Barcelona and the only one with the highest level of protection. The complex is made up of a system of warehouses and outdoor spaces that form a rich and varied urban fabric, prior to the urban layout designed by Cerdà in 1859. Currently, one part of the enclosure houses the Hangar creation factory and another the Poblenou Youth Center, but most of the warehouses are waiting for a project to rehabilitate them and give them a new use. The proposed project Can Ricart JUSTICE CENTER is aims to implement formal strategies for reintroducing the industrial heritage in the Cerdà block in Poblenou while at the same time helping them assimilate into the new communities there: - Adaptation of the complex in urban texture. - Creating Sustainable and Healty enviroment. - Preserving Industrial Heritage. - Having role in Social Development

Can Ricart è stata una delle prime fabbriche di stampa meccanica per tessuti di cotone in Catalogna, leader per innovazione tecnica e volume di produzione. Attualmente è uno dei pochi grandi complessi industriali del XIX secolo rimasti a Barcellona e l'unico con il più alto livello di protezione. Il complesso è costituito da un sistema di magazzini e spazi esterni che formano un tessuto urbano ricco e variegato, antecedente all'impianto urbanistico disegnato da Cerdà nel 1859. Attualmente, una parte del recinto ospita la fabbrica di creazione dell'Hangar e un'altra il Poblenou Youth Center, ma la maggior parte dei magazzini è in attesa di un progetto per riabilitarli e dar loro un nuovo uso. Il progetto proposto Can Ricart JUSTICE CENTER mira ad attuare strategie formali per reintrodurre il patrimonio industriale nel blocco Cerdà a Poblenou aiutandolo allo stesso tempo ad assimilarsi nelle nuove comunità lì: - Adeguamento del complesso nel tessuto urbano. - Creazione di un ambiente sostenibile e salubre. - Conservazione del patrimonio industriale. - Avere un ruolo nello sviluppo sociale
