New Space Economy is gaining popularity in recent years. New commercial opportunities are attracting new stakeholders from non-space sectors (e.g., digital) to develop the next-generation space programs. Furthermore, space organizations have to develop new space infrastructures able to create value for new end-customers. Space organizations struggle to engage these new stakeholders entering the space project ecology. The aim of this research is therefore to clarify how and why stakeholders engage with each other in project ecologies. Through an inductive theory-building approach, drawing upon primary and secondary data, our thesis examines the engagement practices space organizations and their stakeholders in delivering complex projects in the space project ecology. Drawing on stakeholder theory, this research enriches the understanding of stakeholder engagement and value mechanism in project ecologies, being stakeholder engagement a key element to creating value among project stakeholders. Results revealed four main rationales for stakeholder practices, namely: stakeholder engagement create value through trust, stakeholder engagement for strategic value exploration, value creation of stakeholder engagement is enhanced by intermediaries, stakeholder engagement lies on the balance between formal and informal relationship to create value. Findings also present stakeholder engagement practices in space project ecologies. These provided an opportunity to provide a meaningful comparison between stakeholder norms and prescriptions and present practices in space project ecologies, emphasizing any potential inconsistencies. This study can benefit both theory and practice. First, the research contributed to fill the empirical gap in regard to how generate trust in the relationships among stakeholders, highlighted in the space project ecologies literature stream. Furthermore, the research collected several empirical evidences which confirmed that project ecologies foster the formation of stakeholders and new companies who will benefit from project outputs and value. Under a practical perspective, considering the empirical gap just mentioned, the research represents a cross-section of stakeholder engagement practices in space project ecologies, providing then the set of most diffused practices that could be considered as reference for space project managers.
La New Space Economy sta guadagnando popolarità negli ultimi anni.

Abstract
Under a practical perspective, considering the empirical gap just mentioned, the research represents a cross-section of stakeholder engagement practices in space project ecologies, providing then the set of most diffused practices that could be considered as reference for space project managers.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
