The logo summarizes in the words that compose it the fundamental concepts present in the project: conservation, connection and experience. The main aim is to enhance the medieval village of Corenno Plinio. At the beginning of the process, the necessary analyzes were carried out to better understand the cultural, historical, landscape and environmental context of the village and the neighboring territories connected to it, in order to develop a design strategy in respect of the existing heritage. An attempt was therefore made to revitalize the village as a whole, transforming it into a center for crafts, preserving its medieval historical aspects and drawing on it to build the right atmosphere. It is thought that the village could be a cultural, historical and tourist center by introducing the necessary activities and spaces into the existing built heritage. Corenno Plinio is located on the eastern shore of Lake Como, in the municipality of Dervio. It is a village of medieval origins that preserves a castle and a church from the 1300s. Over the years it has kept its characteristics intact, albeit with the addition of buildings, such as the former spinning mill which dates back to the early 1900s. The guideline followed during the process is that of a conservative restoration with key concepts that can be summarized in the words of minimum intervention, reversibility, recognisability and compatibility. The interventions conceived concern the village as a whole, both to repopulate it in a community sense and historical enhancement, and in the physical sense of interventions on the buildings; in particular that of the former spinning mill which lends itself to being the fulcrum of the restoration project and which will refer to the other premises used for the planned activities, distributed within the village. After the inquiries represented in the surveys, in the detailed sheets, in the interviews and in the reworking of historical information, we moved on to the creation of feasible strategies to bring about the enhancement of the village. The inclusion of vocational courses and experiential workshops for tourists will alternate in two main macro periods of the year, summer and winter, while the identified accommodations will be available continuously for both students and tourists. The former spinning mill then became the building on which the investigations and technical interventions contained in the technological (technological packages, energy balance, etc.) and structural documents were carried out. Throughout the process, the guiding thread of historical and cultural memory that takes us from the past to the near future was taken into consideration, passing through the present enhancement intervention.

Abstract
Throughout the process, the guiding thread of historical and cultural memory that takes us from the past to the near future was taken into consideration, passing through the present enhancement intervention.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
