Most of the scientists working on Pandem-2, a project that the European Union is funding with the aim of developing more efficient and better organized responses to upcoming pandemics, argue that the one we are experiencing today will not be the last pandemy and that many others will affect the human species in the decades to come. Being conscious that this is only the beginning of a series of pandemics, the thesis works on the design of a “Post pandemic party” that is a symbolic and cathartic moment that arises from the desire to overcome the limitations that pandemic events build into our human relationships. It is a collective symbolic party that imagines the reconquest of a possible normality, in an urban space crossed by bodies and their physical and aesthetic union. The end of a pandemic becomes a wider opportunity to reflect on the physicality of open spaces and the behaviors of individuals and groups (now new tribes) that constitute a living and fluctuating scenario, apparently fragile, but actually resilient to cultural and technological changes in society. The project takes place for 24 hours in the city of Milan with five reversible installations distributed in some of the most sensitive and symbolic places of the city's activities. "Human Observatory" is an architecture of bodies, an observatory that stands out from the city skyline. "Main Stage" is a large stage for activities and events in Piazza Duomo. "Clubbing Arena", in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, is a club where the energy of dancing takes a central role. "Love Jungle", in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, is a natural environment to be inhabited freely and "Endless Feast" is a potentially endless table that starts from Via Torino and continues along the southern axis of the city. The set of these installations tries to express a real condition of the human being and of being together through rituals closely linked to a daily ordinariness. Rituals that our society seems no longer able to do without and that will be increasingly significant within our ethical and aesthetic relationships, with or without the advent of new pandemics.

Abstract
Rituals that our society seems no longer able to do without and that will be increasingly significant within our ethical and aesthetic relationships, with or without the advent of new pandemics.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
