This thesis aims to investigate the importance that memory has had throughout history for the evolution of the human being and how this has been able to preserve and enhance it. Starting from an in-depth analysis of the most scientific and psychological concept related to memory, we will define the progress of its exteriorization over time and how it has been possible to enclose it in safe and non-perishable formats and structures. After having defined the importance of the figure of the archive in this sense and to better understand the dynamics of construction, it will come, through the exposure of several case studies, to examine the different types of this system, according to its components. At this point, it will be possible to verify the innate narrative capacity of the archive and how important this is for its communication. Understanding how, through interesting examples, this type of system can exploit its component materials to tell and tell itself will act as a key to the entire thesis. We will consider how this can bind to time and space and even how it helps to define their details. The following analysis will help to outline some of the possible ways that the archival system can pursue in the future, to convey its contents in the best way, beginning to play a fundamental role in knowledge and society. To support these last statements, a system designed to show a useful model to the entire archival environment will be proposed to improve its use and attract greater interest in itself. Developing the case study of an archival system based on the cataloguing, visualization and creation of content from the videos related to the Formula 1 Grand Prix held throughout history at the Autodromo di Monza, closely linked to the historical and cultural context to which they belong, it will be possible to introduce important innovations favourable to the evolution of the archive and its charm.
