Torri di Porta Romana

The Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are a unique opportunity for the Northern Italian regions to demonstrate a world-class logistical potential. Multiple challenges arise, from enhancing the current infrastructure, to building new spaces to accommodate the athletes as well as the teams around them. We have come to a proposal, that works as housing system for the Olympics in the first place then would change and accommodate different type of housing within the framework of the proposed Masterplan. The whole works as solution for the complex urban problem found within the area of porta Romana. The project here presents itself as a versatile element that shelters a vast variety of functions. Ranging from social functions, green houses a new train station and sports facilities, the whole works in direct relation with its surroundings. The 4 main podiums elements as well as the towers condensed on the northern side of the site create a strong framing system working with the future A2A tower and thus proposing a strong city edge. The combination of all these urban elements working horizontally, vertically and boasting different structural means along with a bigger green park operating as a ligature between the two northern and southern city fabric allows for an urban composition that aims for creating a new southern hub for Milan.

Le olimpiadi invernali di milano-cortina 2026 sono un’opportunità unica per le regioni del nord italia di dimostrare un potenziale logistico di livello mondiale. Si presentano molteplici sfide, dal miglioramento delle infrastrutture attuali, alla costruzione di nuovi spazi per ospitare gli atleti così come le squadre intorno a loro. Siamo arrivati a una proposta che funziona come sistema di alloggi per le olimpiadi in primo luogo, poi cambierebbe e ospiterebbe diversi tipi di alloggi nel quadro del masterplan proposto. Il tutto funziona come soluzione per il complesso problema urbano che si trova all’interno dell’area di porta romana. Il progetto qui si presenta come un elemento versatile che ospita una grande varietà di funzioni. Spaziando da funzioni sociali, case verdi, una nuova stazione ferroviaria e strutture sportive, il tutto funziona in relazione diretta con l’ambiente circostante. I 4 podi principali così come le torri condensate sul lato nord del sito creano un forte sistema di incorniciatura che lavora con la futura torre a2a, proponendo così un forte bordo cittadino. La combinazione di tutti questi elementi urbani che lavorano orizzontalmente, verticalmente e che vantano diversi mezzi strutturali insieme ad un più grande parco verde che opera come una legatura tra i due tessuti della città settentrionale e meridionale permette una composizione urbana che mira a creare un nuovo hub meridionale per Milano.
