The project proposes the design of a new open-air theatre for Sabbioneta, located in the northern area of the city. This is the area where the fortifications between San Nicola and San Giovanni bastions were demolished at the beginning of the XX century, after the drafting and implementation of the Project of demolition of the walls. The demolition of the walls, the construction of a new axis and new expansions along it led to substantial changes in the area. The project, therefore, assumes its reasons from the analysis of the place, through the reading and synthesis of historical signs. The theme of the theatre develops from Serlio's theatrical scenes - tragic scene, comic scene and satyric scene - which, interpreted in a contemporary way, are declined through architecture itself.

Abstract
The project proposes the design of a new open-air theatre for Sabbioneta, located in the northern area of the city. This is the area where the fortifications between San Nicola and San Giovanni bastions were demolished at the beginning of the XX century, after the drafting and implementation of the Project of demolition of the walls. The demolition of the walls, the construction of a new axis and new expansions along it led to substantial changes in the area. The project, therefore, assumes its reasons from the analysis of the place, through the reading and synthesis of historical signs. The theme of the theatre develops from Serlio's theatrical scenes - tragic scene, comic scene and satyric scene - which, interpreted in a contemporary way, are declined through architecture itself.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
