The regeneration of the railway station of the town of Elini, Sardegna Region. The main urban challenge addressed by the project is the fight against the abandonment and counteract depopulation in the inland areas, particularly in the town of Elini in the province of Ogliastra, through the valorization of the railway station and the urban spaces of the town in an integrated natural-cultural itinerary. The railway station is located in the municipality of Elini on the Mandas-Arbatax line, which is used exclusively for the tourist services of the Trenino Verde. Elini is a small town of almost 550 inhabitants in Ogliastra (Sardinia) halfway between the sea and the mountains in a panoramic position surrounded by orchards and vineyards. The small town of Ogliastra is situated on the provincial road between Ilbono and Arzana. Its territory is divided into two areas, one of which is mainly hilly and the other flat. It borders the municipalities of Ilbono, Arzana, Lanusei and Tortolì. The old granite railway station in the centre of the town gives it a touch of antiquity, especially when the famous trenino verde passes through. Referring to the strategic tourism plan published by the Sardinia region: To move the region from seasonal tourism to annual tourism, “Strategic Tourism Plan that promotes a sustainable, responsible and accessible destination and that provides solutions that are not only capable of responding to a need to consolidate and enhance its notoriety, but also to create the economic and social conditions necessary to counter depopulation, create employment and enhance inland areas: there is no tourist destination if this is not attractive and welcoming for those who live there .” The Methodology: The urban project aims at activating and developing the urban area with the focus on the redevelopment of the point of accessibility of Elini train station and consider it a new centrality to the urban area that is surrounded by nature on the east and the agricultural fields on the west (the transversal strip). Covering several dimensional scales (Metropolitan- region, Urban- city, Local- from neighborhood to building systems) by using Metropolitan Cartography to simplify the metropolitan complexity with the vision of the project. The research question: What is the quality of the space that can support the territorial strategic plan? What is the quality of the territory to support the economic and social conditions to counteract depopulation and enhance the inland areas?
La riqualificazione della stazione ferroviaria del comune di Elini, Regione Sardegna. La principale sfida urbana affrontata dal progetto è la lotta all'abbandono e contrastare lo spopolamento nelle aree interne, in particolare nel comune di Elini in provincia di Ogliastra, attraverso la valorizzazione della stazione ferroviaria e degli spazi urbani del paese in un itinerario naturale-culturale integrato. La stazione ferroviaria si trova nel comune di Elini sulla linea Mandas-Arbatax, utilizzata esclusivamente per i servizi turistici del Trenino Verde. Elini è un piccolo comune di quasi 550 abitanti dell'Ogliastra (Sardegna) a metà strada tra mare e montagna in posizione panoramica circondato da frutteti e vigneti. Il piccolo paese dell'Ogliastra è situato sulla strada provinciale tra Ilbono ed Arzana. Il suo territorio è diviso in due zone di cui una prevalentemente collinare e l'altra pianeggiante. Confina con i comuni di Ilbono, Arzana, Lanusei e Tortolì. L'antica stazione ferroviaria in granito nel centro del paese gli dona un tocco di antichità, soprattutto quando passa il famoso trenino verde. Facendo riferimento al Piano strategico del turismo pubblicato dalla Regione Sardegna: Spostare la regione dal turismo stagionale al turismo annuale, “Piano strategico del turismo che promuova una destinazione sostenibile, responsabile e accessibile e che fornisca soluzioni che non solo siano in grado di rispondere a un bisogno per consolidare e accrescere la sua notorietà, ma anche per creare le condizioni economiche e sociali necessarie per contrastare lo spopolamento, creare occupazione e valorizzare le aree interne: non esiste meta turistica se questa non è attraente e accogliente per chi la abita”. La Metodologia: Il progetto urbano mira ad attivare e sviluppare l'area urbana con l'accento sulla riqualificazione del punto di accessibilità della stazione ferroviaria Elini e considerarla una nuova centralità per l'area urbana immersa nella natura ad est e la zona agricola campi a ovest (la fascia trasversale). Coprendo più scale dimensionali (Metropolitan-regione, Urbano-città, Locale- dal quartiere ai sistemi edilizi) utilizzando la Cartografia Metropolitana per semplificare la complessità metropolitana con la visione del progetto. La domanda di ricerca: Qual è la qualità dello spazio che può supportare il piano strategico territoriale? Qual è la qualità del territorio per sostenere le condizioni economiche e sociali per contrastare lo spopolamento e valorizzare le aree interne?
