The project concerns the redevelopment of the Quartier Sant'Ambrogio I area in Milan, located in the southern suburbs of the Lombard capital, in the Barona area. This complex has encouraged some reflections on how it is appropriate to intervene in a context on the edge of the urban one and immersed in a landscape reality of environmental interest with the presence of some areas of protection of the most valuable natural resources. There are areas in which agriculture and nature are integrated into the characteristic lowland landscape, in which the role of hedges and trees, traditional crops, fountains and the presence of farmsteads are central. From the observation of the entire surrounding area, strongly marked by the presence of the South Agricultural Park of Milan and the San Paolo Hospital- one of the most important in the metropolis -and from the analysis of the road infrastructure and the flows of people that characterize it, we came to propose a theme of particular magnitude that sees implementation with the perfect coincidence of the form and primary function of the project: urban and social regeneration. A theme that finds its translation in the reuse of existing spaces, victims of degradation and abandonment stratified over time. By rethinking these spaces, first and foremost those related to the civic center and the gatehouses present in the residential slats, and by inserting new functions open to the entire population, an attempt has been made to bring back a generational mixity within a neighborhood characterized by a very high old-age index. An organic and equipped environment is determined, which through punctual interventions produces activities of a cultural, recreational and working nature, while seeking a new and reinvigorated dialogue between city and nature. The purpose of this paper is therefore to, following an appropriate preliminary analysis, propose a project aimed at giving new life to the neighborhood and the community through the triple relationship of agriculture-community-work.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is therefore to, following an appropriate preliminary analysis, propose a project aimed at giving new life to the neighborhood and the community through the triple relationship of agriculture-community-work.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
