Ospedale Beaujon, landmark di trasformazioni

In this document is reflected the author's academic journey in the process of developing the final project of the master's degree program that is part of the double degree program of the schools École Nationale d'Architecture Paris Val de Seine(ENSAPVS) and the Politecnico di Milano. The theme revolves around transformation and its importance when deciding to intervene in a building of heritage value. The goal is to propose a transformation studied in detail to add value to the existing building. The study complex is the Beaujon Hospital located in Clichy, Hautes-de-Seine department, on the suburbs of the city of Paris, France. It is currently scheduled to change its activities, the hospital function will be transferred to a newly created hospital, the Campus Hospitalo-Universitaire Saint-Ouen Grand Paris-Nord, and so a chapter opens in the history of the building where it is necessary to study its complexity and arrive at a transformation proposal that respects the heritage values and exploits the potential of the site. The development of this project makes a journey from the origins of the hospital, studying its most particular characteristics, to the current situation, where we can see the consequences of transformations and adaptations. In this way find the right clues that will help define the most appropriate transformation proposal for the hospital and restore the architectural-patrimonial value it has always had. Considering the role that the hospital has in the complex system of future transformations in the neighborhood in which it is located, it becomes a key point for meeting the needs of the future. The journey between past, present and future resulted in a project that seeks to be the answer to these needs, proposing the right transformations so that the building becomes a symbol of architecture in constant change, without neglecting its value as an element of the past. Transformations are an opportunity to tell the story of the past, to enhance it, and to exalt it.

In questo documento è il riflesso il percorso accademico dell'autore nel processo di sviluppo del progetto finale della laurea magistrale che fa parte del programma di studi di doppio diploma delle scuole École Nationale d'Architecture Paris Val de Seine (ENSAPVS) e il Politecnico di Milano. Il tema ruota attorno alla trasformazione e all'importanza che ha quando si decide di intervenire in un edificio di valore patrimoniale. L'obiettivo è quello di proporre una trasformazione studiata nei minimi dettagli per aggiungere valore all'edificio esistente. Il complesso di studio è l'Ospedale Beaujon situato a Clichy, dipartimento di Hautes-de-Seine, nella periferia della città di Parigi, Francia. Attualmente è previsto il cambio di attività, la funzione ospedaliera sarà trasferita in un ospedale di nuova creazione, l'Ospedale Universitario Campus di nord de Paris a Saint Ouen e cosí si apre un capitolo nella storia dell'edificio dove è necessario studiarne la complessità e arrivare a una proposta di trasformazione che rispetti i valori del patrimonio e sfrutti le potenzialità del sito. Lo sviluppo di questo progetto fa un percorso dalle origini dell'ospedale, studiandone le caratteristiche più particolari, alla situazione attuale, dove possiamo vedere le conseguenze di trasformazioni e adattamenti. In questo modo trovare gli indizi giusti che aiuteranno a definire la proposta di trasformazione più appropriata per l'ospedale e restituire il valore architettonico-patrimoniale che ha sempre avuto. La sua collocazione nel complesso sistema di trasformazioni future nel quartiere in cui si trova, diventa un punto chiave per rispondere alle esigenze dell’avvenire. Il viaggio tra passato, presente e futuro è sfociato in un progetto che cerca di essere la risposta a queste esigenze, proponendo le giuste trasformazioni affinché l'edificio diventi simbolo dell'architettura in continuo cambiamento, senza trascurare il valore che ha come elemento del passato. Le trasformazioni sono un'opportunità per raccontare il passato, valorizzarlo ed esaltarlo.
