Process and task analysis for CMMS implementation assessment

The project “Process and task analysis for CMMS implementation assessment” has been developed in Sisme SPA, a company located in Olgiate Comasco. The master thesis is strictly related to the analysis required for choosing and evaluating the implementation of a new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) in a manufacturing company. The approach used is focused on the issues which characterized the department, avoiding thinking that the CMMS was the unique goal of the project. The project behind the report is structured on the A3 Model. In the first project phases, the company’s inefficiencies in terms of production and revenue losses were identified and quantified. then as the A3 framework states the causes have been deeply analyzed in order to arrive to the root, fundamental step before the developing of the countermeasures. In the end, the process of implementation of the identified countermeasures took place, and each of them monitored to be sure of their correct and effective implementation.

Il progetto “Process and task analysis for CMMS implementation assessment” è stato sviluppato nell’azienda Sisme SPA, situata nel comune di Olgiate Comasco. La tesi è strettamente legata all'analisi necessaria per la scelta e la valutazione dell'implementazione di un nuovo sistema gestionale per il reparto di manutenzione (CMMS). L'approccio utilizzato è focalizzato sulle problematiche che caratterizzano il reparto in questione, evitando di pensare che il CMMS fosse l'obiettivo unico del progetto. Il progetto alla base della relazione è strutturato sul Modello A3. Nelle prime fasi, sono state identificate e quantificate le inefficienze dell'azienda in termini di perdita di produzione e di fatturato. Poi, come prevede il modello A3, sono state analizzate a fondo le cause per arrivare alla radice, passo fondamentale prima dello sviluppo delle contromisure. Infine, è stato avviato il processo di implementazione delle contromisure individuate, monitorando ciascuna di esse per essere certi della loro corretta ed efficace attuazione.
