Waterfront urban design of Kronstadt

Kronstadt is a small island in front of St. Petersburg. Since the city was founded in the early 18th century, many forts and fortifications were built as a military base. Kronstadt and several sea forts formed a tight line of defense that surrounded St. Petersburg during the Eastern War and World War I and World War II. Since 1996, Kronstadt has been gradually opened to the public, and is no longer restricted to special groups. But it still has regular military parades and preserves its unique military history. Now that Kronstadt is open to the public, its military-industrial remains have contributed to tourism development and urban renewal. After the opening of such a closed military base, a large number of protected relics exist. How to make the new building fit the original urban characteristic is the main content of this research.
