In recent decades, the relationship between cities and industrial lands has changed. Now with the expansion of urban areas, the industries, rather than being at the periphery of the urban areas, coexist with them. These are woven into the urban fabric and surrounded by residential and commercial areas. Although access to material and human resources has been facilitated through this transformation, industrial sites, in addition to creating multiple environmental issues, have greatly affected the quality of the social life of residents. Based on the above, Genova, as a well-known industrial Italian city, is an example of an integrated industrial city because the industrial areas are woven into the urban fabric and situated close to a variety of natural resources such as coastline, mountains, and streams. In addition to the environmental crisis, Genoa is facing such problems as land limitation and lack of connections and accessibility for pedestrians. The mentioned conditions are more tangible, especially along the Polcevera Stream, where the industrial areas from macro to micro scale are woven into the urban fabric and natural elements. Based on what was mentioned above, our thesis aims to provide accessibility for pedestrians and several public spaces along the Polcevera to create a vibrant environment and promote processes of regeneration and appropriation by the users.

Abstract
Based on what was mentioned above, our thesis aims to provide accessibility for pedestrians and several public spaces along the Polcevera to create a vibrant environment and promote processes of regeneration and appropriation by the users.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
