Coworking spaces are flourishing as a paragon of sharing economy in the world. However, with independent developments around the world and the dramatic impact of Covid-19, the coworking spaces are enduring new challenges in progress. This thesis concludes the basics of coworking spaces, reviewing scientific literature in the industry. Then, based on a clustering analysis of the data collected from the coworking spaces in Milan and Shanghai, the discussion and the conclusion are mostly focusing on the differences of coworking spaces in the 2 cites and the causes, characteristics of each cluster and some trends in the industry. The study could support the decision-making process of coworking space managers in 2 aspects, identifying the opportunities for new entrants and the threats for incumbents.
