The Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of civil infrastructures is an important research topic for the engineering community: its aim is to guarantee adequate and safety operational conditions for recent and old structures. In this field the use of purely data-driven models has the advantage to ease the application in different cases and, thanks to the high number of machine learning techniques available nowadays, it allows to try and find the more suitable one. The steps presented in this work follow the statistical pattern recognition paradigm: a model is designed based on a database from the undamaged structure and then through the simulation of damages a statistical model is tested to recognize the presence of anomalies. In this case the data-driven SHM of a railway bridge is applied in the static and dynamic field: the models used are a linear and elliptical regression for the first and an autoregressive (AR) model for the second. To enhance the dynamic analysis it is developed a procedure to estimate the travelling train load, it allows the classification of the inputs acting on the structure and to analyse only the desired ones. The AR model is widely used in laboratory activities but there are few applications on real structures: this work wants to confirm or find its pros and cons to show if it can have a future in the SHM.

Abstract
The AR model is widely used in laboratory activities but there are few applications on real structures: this work wants to confirm or find its pros and cons to show if it can have a future in the SHM.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
