Recent advancements in the service innovation literature have highlighted the central role of institutions (i.e., the set of social norms and rules) in guiding the innovation of a service ecosystem. However, if until now institutions have been used to statically describe the configuration of an Actor System, no contribution has directly tackled the question of how institutions are understood and used by "innovators" to ignite service innovation. This study combines a systematic and bibliometric review of the literature to investigate the way institutions can be used to condition the process of service innovation. As a result of the analysis, we highlighted 6 clusters of contributions that, form different angles allow us to understand the interdependent relationship between service innovations and institutions. Starting from the review of clusters’ contributions, we highlight avenues for further research into deepening the way value co-creation can be influenced by leveraging institutions.

Abstract
Starting from the review of clusters’ contributions, we highlight avenues for further research into deepening the way value co-creation can be influenced by leveraging institutions.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
