Overcoming the biological and negative meaning of the word, architectural parasites run over the urban field like sonic clusters apparently out of tune able to restore a new musicality to the existing situation. The dependence relationship between the two urban bodies, far from being damaging, displays itself as a micro-architectural intervention able to give a new sense and value to the existing, becoming a reciprocal exchanging and valorization source. In this way, through the recovery of an ancient but also daily practice, it takes shape a new urban advance model as an alternative to the ground demolition and consumption, and in favour of a requalification of the existing for a city full of signs. Considering the actuality of the subject and the lack of a complete literature on this topic, it seemed necessary to structure this thesis as a book, in order to finally give voice to a widespread practice unfortunately too many times hushed-up, as it is the parasitism in architecture.

Abstract
Overcoming the biological and negative meaning of the word, architectural parasites run over the urban field like sonic clusters apparently out of tune able to restore a new musicality to the existing situation. The dependence relationship between the two urban bodies, far from being damaging, displays itself as a micro-architectural intervention able to give a new sense and value to the existing, becoming a reciprocal exchanging and valorization source. This thesis aims to demonstrate the revitalizing parasite function for that existing - but anyway with no sign of life- architectures that take advantage of the disturbing and, at the same time, perturbing cohabitation with the parasite. In this way, through the recovery of an ancient but also daily practice, it takes shape a new urban advance model as an alternative to the ground demolition and consumption, and in favour of a requalification of the existing for a city full of signs. Considering the actuality of the subject and the lack of a complete literature on this topic, it seemed necessary to structure this thesis as a book, in order to finally give voice to a widespread practice unfortunately too many times hushed-up, as it is the parasitism in architecture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
