In this work we implement a fully data-driven approach to calibrate Local Stochastic Volatility models using machine learning techniques as a computational enhancement of the method. Indeed, the model proposed will be a particular example of a more general class of models, the Neural SDEs. To accomplish this, we parameterise the leverage function via a family of feed-forward neural networks, while modelling the stochastic volatility part with SABR dynamics. By changing perspective, we can see the model in the context of generative adversarial networks: we generate volatility surfaces through specific neural SDEs whose quality is assessed by quantifying, possibly in an adversarial manner, the discrepancies with the available market data. The optimisation algorithm is a variant of the stochastic gradient descent in which a variance reduction technique based on hedge control variates is also exploited. Repeating the calibration procedure multiple times (on different synthetically generated market prices) enables us to conduct a statistical performance analysis, showing the accuracy and generalisation properties of the method.

Abstract
Repeating the calibration procedure multiple times (on different synthetically generated market prices) enables us to conduct a statistical performance analysis, showing the accuracy and generalisation properties of the method.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
