Rogoredo Urban Regeneration in Milan : the design of the warm-up hall for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics and the post-games student ＆community public center

This article is based on our design project of abandoned train station brownfields regeneration design, the aim is to serve the Milan Winter Olympics in the first and then serve the university students studying in Milan. Firstly, The building first needs to meet the needs of the warm-up venue for the Milan Winter Olympics, and can meet the living needs of the staff and athletes of the Winter Olympics, provide convenience for the Milan Winter Olympics, and be able to communicate with the main venue of the Milan Winter Olympics in traffic. make connections to activate abandoned train station brownfields. Secondly, after the Milan Winter Olympics ended, the function was changed to serve the college students studying in Milan, forming a large Milan college student sharing community,turn the residential building of Milan winter Olympic into dormitory of students,turn the original warm-up venue for the Winter Olympics into a college gymnasium, and transforming the original venue. Some office spaces used by the staff of the Milan Winter Olympics have been turned into entrepreneurial centers for college students, contributing to the retention of Milan college students. In addition, some public spaces can also be released to the surrounding residents, so as to make this area full of immigrants more harmonious, set up some urban green spaces, and improve the overall living environment.For the City of Milan, the transformation of these brownfields into new urban Spaces is a great opportunity to rehabilitate hitherto incoherent urban areas and to create new neighbourhoods, even to give new urban character to the neighbourhood.
