Promoting a healthy lifestyle and general well-being requires a focus on the most sensitive age groups. Among these is the category of children, whose lifestyle today directly impacts the well-being of future generations. In this regard, research, as well as the institutions' intervention, has always been aimed at the prevention of disorders and illnesses from an early age. These are often caused by an unhealthy and excessively sedentary lifestyle that, in addition to long-term complications, can lead to a series of immediate discomforts, including obesity, one of the most common health problems among young people, even in Italy. In light of these considerations and driven by the newfound importance that the recent pandemic has given back to health and the quest for well-being, the e4Sport Lab department of the Politecnico di Milano has launched the “WeAre4Children project”. The aim of this project is to monitor, through the use of smart T-shirts created together with the textile company Alfredo Grassi S.p.A. and with the support of an app specifically developed by TK Soluzioni, the sporting and general health performance of some children from the US Bosto football school. The data collected will then be processed by the doctors at the Centro Polispecialistico Beccaria, generating periodic reports to be shown to coaches and parents, thus seeking, on the one hand, to improve the athletes' sporting performance, and on the other, to prevent disorders and illnesses through a healthier lifestyle. The objective of this work is to define a business model for the commercialisation of the product developed within the WeAre4Children project, among the youth teams of amateur sports clubs. This objective, although very ambitious, represents only one part of a much broader design: the creation of 4.0 amateur sports clubs, which, through the use of wearable technologies, can contribute to the pursuit of a healthier lifestyle by young athletes, to the improvement of their sports performance, and to the creation of collaborations with neighbouring companies and realities for the socio-economic development of the territory.
