Temporary gardens are the future of our condensed cities: While some might argue that everything is temporary, we can only consider a project temporary by definition after its disappearance. That being said, the true question will always remain: why create permanent solutions to temporary problems? Analyzing temporary gardens through time with a special attention to their use and seeing how they have shaped our cities give us clues toward creating design guidelines for any landscape designer or amateur that wishes to create a good temporary garden project. It is complex to plan their design in order to succeed in understanding the palimpsest and the future of the space. Dealing with the cultural impact is a mandatory step, especially when taking into consideration how different regions impact the designs of gardens. This paper proposes a deep analysis of projects coming from all around the world, and aims to compare the overall shape of temporary gardens and their main characteristics. The study follows a quantitative data analysis where a questionnaire was made in order to compare the culture impact on temporary gardens between the two regions of Europe and the Middle East. The outcome of a deep Literature review, case studies and questionnaire allowed us to create guidelines that focus on every step in designing a temporary garden. In a world of constant change, we as architects, should adapt our designs into the new way of life and work with the daily changes that happen.

Abstract
In a world of constant change, we as architects, should adapt our designs into the new way of life and work with the daily changes that happen.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
