Marchesini Group is an italian company involved in designing and producing a wide range of packaging machines and lines for the pharmaceutical and cosmetical industry. The company was founded in 1974 and it has been transformed over the years from a small local company to a large industrial enterprise, thanks to a continuous process of mergers and acquisitions with complementary companies in the sector. Now, in particular the Headquarter of Pianoro (BO), Italy, has to face the numerous issues that have emerged from the analysis, both from spatial, social, communicational and sustainability point of view, so as to be able to fully reflect the values of innovation that leads the Marchesini Group. The main issue is identified into the organization frame, in terms of space, time, people and flows: the Covid-19 emergency forced companies to reconfigure and rethink their way of working, modify their existing spaces and at the same time continue to meet the health and wellbeing needs of workers and stakeholders. All the company's problems can be linked to the to the two main contexts on which they depend: Sociality and Productivity. Applying a re-reading according to Systems Theory, Marchesini Company is translated as a Complex and Open System, which is defined as a group of interacting and interrelated elements that can be further divided into other subsystems. In this case the subsystems are identified as the Social System, consisting in people and interactions and the Productive System that embodies machines, places and actions aimed at production. It is possible to identify the exchange space between the two as the surface on which to act. This space made of relations, exchanges, matter and energy is the BALANCE NET governed by three mechanisms: Conduction, Radiation and Exchange of Matter. How can it improve the Social System interaction with Marchesini Company? The aim of this project is to create a spatial Balance Net able to transform the relationship between companies and communities making them penetrate and establish a symbiotic, mutually benefical, connection.
Marchesini Group è un'azienda italiana che progetta e produce un'ampia gamma di macchine e linee di confezionamento per l'industria farmaceutica e cosmetica. L'azienda è stata fondata nel 1974 e si è trasformata negli anni da piccola realtà locale a grande impresa industriale, grazie a un continuo processo di fusioni e acquisizioni con aziende complementari del settore. Ora, in particolare la sede di Pianoro (BO), Italia, deve affrontare le numerose problematiche emerse da un'analisi, che coinvolgono sia il punto di vista spaziale che sociale, comunicativo e di sostenibilità, in modo da poter rispecchiare appieno i valori di innovazione che guidano Marchesini Group. La problematica principale viene identificata nella cornice organizzativa, in termini di spazio, tempo, persone e flussi: l'emergenza Covid-19 ha costretto le aziende a riconfigurare e ripensare il proprio modo di lavorare, modificare gli spazi esistenti e allo stesso tempo continuare a soddisfare le esigenze di salute e benessere dei lavoratori e degli stakeholder. Tutti i problemi dell'azienda possono essere ricondotti ai due contesti principali da cui dipendono: Socialità e Produttività. Applicando una rilettura secondo la Teoria dei Sistemi, l'azienda Marchesini viene tradotta come un Sistema Complesso e Aperto, definito come un insieme di elementi interagenti e interrelati che possono essere ulteriormente suddivisi in altri sottosistemi. In questo caso i sottosistemi sono identificati come il Sistema Sociale, costituito da persone e interazioni, e il Sistema Produttivo che racchiude macchine, luoghi e azioni finalizzate alla produzione. È possibile identificare lo spazio di scambio tra i due come una superficie sulla quale agire per ricreare un nuovo equilibrio. Questo spazio fatto di relazioni, scambi, materia ed energia è la BALANCE NET, governata da tre meccanismi: Conduzione, Radiazione e Scambio di Materia. Come può questa migliorare l'interazione del Sistema Sociale con l'azienda Marchesini? L'obiettivo di questo progetto è creare una rete di equilibrio spaziale in grado di trasformare il rapporto tra aziende e comunità, facendole penetrare l'una con l'altra e stabilendo una connessione simbiotica e reciprocamente vantaggiosa.
