Abstract
This work sets its roots in the nowadays main concerns of the space panorama. Compactness and cost reduction have been perfectly synthesized in CubeSat technology, while the renewed interest in Lunar Missions constantly triggers new studies and discoveries. This study investigates the use of invariant manifolds and lunar collision orbits to design trajectories departing from Lagrange Point Orbits (LPO) arriving to the Moon, providing competitive results in terms of cost, in line with CubeSats' propulsion capabilities. The procedure patches the unstable branches of the invariant manifolds of LPOs around the collinear Lagrangian Points and collision orbits departing from the center of the Moon by massively employing Poincaré cuts, exploiting their dimensionality reduction capability. At first instance, the Circular Restricted Three-Body model is employed, then extended to the Bi-Circular Restricted Four-Body model, where further complications arise due to its nonautonomous nature. The approximate methodology here proposed, allows to overcome such limitations and to employ a grid-search approach, at the expenses of computational e ort. The result of this work is synthesized in a database of feasible trajectories, to be analyzed in further optimizations as a suitable collection of initial guesses for real missions' analysis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
