VALUTAZIONE TECNICA E FUNZIONALE DI UN SISTEMA HYPERLOOP DI MEDIA DISTANZA

This Master Thesis consists in a technical and functional feasibility study of an Hyperloop transport line between Milan and Turin. At the beginning we will focus on a territorial framework which includes an evaluation of the transport offer present in the territory. After that we will analyse the main topic of the work, the possible traffic demand, focusing on the SP surveys, aimed at collecting the preferences of a sample of people faced with the choice of taking the Hyperloop or another alternative modal to travel from Milan to Turin or vice versa and after, with the data collected, the fit of the Multinomial Logit Model. From the calibration of the model, scenarios with different characteristics were created to design the transport system. At the end, an analysis of the possible costs and revenues was carried out to determine the recovery times of the investment and an energy analysis.

Quest tesi consiste in uno studio di fattibilità tecnica e funzionale di una linea di trasporto Hyperloop tra Milano e Torino. Inizialmente ci si soffermerà su un inquadramento territoriale che comprende una valutazione dell’offerta di trasporto presente sul territorio. Successivamente si entrerà nel cuore dell’elaborato, l’analisi della domanda potenziale, mediante le indagini SP, volte a raccogliere le preferenze di un campione di persone messe di fronte alla scelta di prendere l’Hyperloop oppure un’altra alternativa modale per viaggiare da Milano a Torino o viceversa e dopodiché è stata realizzata la calibrazione del modello Logit Multinomiale. Dalla calibrazione del modello sono stati realizzati degli scenari con diverse caratteristiche che hanno permesso di dimensionare il sistema di trasporto. Infine, si è proceduto con un’analisi dei possibili costi e ricavi per determinare i tempi di recupero dell’investimento e con un bilancio energetico del sistema per determinare l’indipendenza.
