Comparison of the Residential Furniture from the First Editions of the Museu da Casa Brasileira and the Compasso D'oro Awards

The research analyzes the furniture awarded in the first three editions of the MCB Design Awards in Brazil and the Compasso d’Oro in Italy to understand which aspects and attributes made them winning products. It was found that despite the Brazilian award at the time focusing on the domestic environment and the objective of valuing national and industrial productions, there were also awards for handmade series or unique objects as well as products in international styles and office furniture projects were well received. received by jurors interested in giving prestige to this branch of Brazilian industrial production, and, although the initial motivation of Compasso d'Oro was the same, the award was never tied to this requirement, as in its own Star System methodology in design. The research fulfilled its objectives of knowing the furniture from the beginning of the Museu da Casa Brasileira and Compasso d'Oro awards, understanding that the guidelines were not always focused on the domestic theme in both cases, varying between industrial object and authorial design, this more evident in the Brazilian award, as well as for the commercial environment.

La ricerca analizza i mobili premiati nelle prime tre edizioni degli MCB Design Awards in Brasile e del Compasso d'Oro in Italia per capire quali aspetti e attributi li hanno resi prodotti vincenti.
