Tashkent Circus: da circo stabile a industria circense : progetto di ampliamento e conservazione

The book aims to give a circus historical and sociological overview, of its aspect linked to education -focused in the area of the former USSR- and the contemporary circus world situation. It will also attempt to trace the key points that have generated the circus industries; in order to lay the foundations for the design part of the thesis. Due to the immense vastness of the theme, the part preceding the advent of the modern circus, and topics such as itinerancy, circus disciplines, circus theatre, festivals, will be excluded from the research. The final objective of the thesis is to prepare a cutting-edge redevelopment project for the Tashkent Circus, a stable circus building located in the heart of the Uzbek capital. The first three chapters are made through bibliographic citations, each of them anticipated by an introductory abstract and aim to identify the key points useful for carrying out the project. The fourth chapter identifies the Tashkent Circus in its design, structural and compositional aspect through the historical drawings and their redesign. The last chapter presents the conservation and expansion project developed for the Tashkent Circus, divided into each element of which it is composed - the residences, the tower, the New Square-.

Il volume vuole dare un inquadramento storico e sociologico circense, del suo aspetto legato all’istruzione -focalizzato nella zona dell’ex Urss- e la situazione mondiale circense contemporanea, Tenterà inoltre di tracciare dei punti chiave che hanno generato le industrie circensi; al fine di fondare delle basi per la parte progettuale della tesi. A causa dell’immensa vastità del tema, saranno esclusi dalla ricerca la parte precedente l’avvento del circo moderno, e argomenti come l’itineranza, le discipline circensi, il teatro circo, i festivals. L’obiettivo finale della tesi è quello di predisporre un progetto di riqualificazione all’avanguardia per il Tashkent Circus, un edificio circense stabile sito nel cuore della capitale uzbeka. I primi tre capitoli sono realizzati attraverso citazioni bibliografiche, ognuno di esso anticipato da un abstract introduttivo e mirano a individuare i punti cardini utili allo svolgimento del progetto. Il quarto capitolo individua il Tashkent Circus nel suo aspetto progettuale, strutturale e compositivo attraverso i disegni storici e il ridisegno di essi. L’ultimo capitolo presenta il progetto di conservazione e ampliamento sviluppato per il Tashkent Circus, suddiviso per ogni elemento di cui è composto -le residenze, la torre, la Nuova Piazza-.
